Yes and Amen resources were created to fill a void in Bible Studies for small groups.
I wrote my first bible study in 2017. At the time, I was meeting with a group of middle school students in a coffee shop and wanted to give them a study that would lead them closer to God. And so the hunt began.
I was looking for a study that didn’t have:
-homework because these girls had enough homework from school.
-videos because watching videos is often distracting and difficult in public places.
There are plenty of teen devotionals available, but most of them only have a single-sentence bible verse. The girls were showing up wanted more than that. They wanted to learn more about God and go deeper.
I spent a lot of time looking and was never able to find the right thing. That’s when Yes and Amen came to be.
Since then I have been writing bible studies on and off for my students and my women’s group.
Yes and AMEN studies are crafted to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through God’s Word and foster fellowship through conversations. My hope in publishing them on this website is that you will be blessed by them as well.
Cynthia lives in North Georgia with her husband, and three children.
She has been a small group leader in student ministry at North Point Ministries from 2011 to 2024.
Currently, Cynthia is leading a women’s small group that has been meeting since 2017.
Who are these resources for?
The Yes and Amen resources were created primarily for a small group setting. They can be used by groups organized within a church, formal small groups, groups of friends who just want to dive deeper together, or individuals looking for a structured quiet time.
If I am a student, do I need an adult to use the bible studies?
Nope. If you are meeting with a group of friends, pick one person to act as the leader. The leaders job is to keep the group on track. I recommend that you start out with a prayer. It can be super simple, for example: “Dear God, thank you for this time together. Please be with us as we study your Word. Amen.” Then follow the leader guide included in the bible study. Your job is to keep the conversation moving in the discussion questions. So, if the conversation gets quiet, go ahead and ask the next question.
While you do not need an adult to study God’s Word together, I do recommend that you have a trusted adult that you can ask questions to if they come up. If you ever have a friend who expresses that they are physically hurting themselves, being physically hurt by someone else, or are physically hurting another person, always tell a parent or an adult that you trust.
Below are images of my women’s small group and students I have served through the years. This is the joy and why I volunteer. I am so grateful for the gift God has given me in these opportunities. My prayer is that the resources on this website inspire the same joy, hope, peace, fellowship, and connectedness in your life that I have received during my time serving as a small group leader.
